Adhesive Wallcovering:

Translucent & transparent self-adhesive film – easy to apply & easily repositionable, suitable for all wall applications.

– Electric Cutting: Muraspec does not advise the use of a wallcovering cutter with this product.

Fixture and Fittings:

When fitting Mylar, Strataflex always dress the job with Metal edging Trims at all corners, ceiling and base. This needs to be 12mm and 10mm option not a 12 & 12 will be OK. Other colours are available, we recommend lightly abrading the profile, with a scouring pad to give a key to work with (if Trims are not available we would recommend Metal Angle Mould, dimensions to customer requirements).  Do not use Tauwall as at does not hide stretched film. We recommend our own Range of clear adhesives. (Please use an adhesive as indicated on our test report – Failing to use the adhesive enclosed voids the IMO cert.

Strataflex Mural should be applied at 18-25°C (65-77°F). Surfaces must be flat, smooth, clean, dry and fully cured, clean of release agents and free of solvents, silicon wax and oil, – Please ensure Enamel paints are what they say they are! Plaster should be given 3 weeks to dry out Chemically treated lightweight plaster should be cut back / sealed as paper is actually unstable when wall split. All walls must be water tight dry, if in doubt seal wall with Blackfriers Sealant “water seal” paint, that’s also used on wood or in “ stress / or movement”            

Please note: we recommend that all printed film stocks are not installed until room / ambient is to temperature for 24 hours.

Our product should be stored in it’s original cardboard box within a temperature range between 59°F (15°C) and 77°F (25°C), at a humidity between 45- 65%, for up to 12 months. Store horizontally and avoid places with a high ozone content or next to electrical machines which emit a strong electromagnetic field.

Do not use paper-based or non-porous media, as the paper-based media adhered walls would cause our product to react badly to certain glues, such as MAC 443 Seams should be minimalised and limited to one stretch together joint. Priming of odorous surfaces is not recommended and using nail varnish, – is not advisable. Always prime with a specialist primer. All our products will have a Datagram which will be a different design number if there is any change – this gives the client peace of mind you using the correct product or anything contentious. If working on radius curve and securing the film with screws which are supplied with a pop rivet press.

StrataflexTM should always be cut into the diagonal. Once StrataflexTM is trimmed into place make sure you wipe with your hand the edge joints – positioning is good and should be completed when wallcovering is trimmed into the groove. Once into the groove use a BB straight edge and pressure ( fence panel framer) on the next diagonal to complete the joint.

Any primary/matching base papers will not back prime walls this will cause distortion and give shadows especially in bathrooms. Please make sure if you find singly colour envelopes containing patina effect or unprinted stock strataflex that the material is not over stretched and that all sizes match.

WE CANNOT STAND IN FOR ANY OF THE GLUES WE ISSUE, -PAINTER AND DECORATOR MUST PROVIDE A TEST CERTIFICATE SHOWING THESE ADHESVES TO PREVENT ISSUES LATER IN MAL-SEAMING. OUR TOLERANCES
