Application

Horizontal and Vertical Surfaces

Do not affix Strataflex on freshly painted surfaces. Allow 3 weeks. Apply to surfaces that have been conditioned at room temperature.

Do not install lower than 10°C or higher than 35°C. Not suitable for wet areas such as shower cubicles, basins, or walls directly above baths. Use in well-ventilated areas. Do not use on uneven surfaces. The surface must be sound, clean, smooth and dry. To avoid seam / edge peeling at corners of coving apply adhesive on contact area of film before hinge cutting to underside of coving and wall. Keep away from any heat or fire source.

In Compliance with M.G.L.C.90(b) and in accordance with full MED certification, Muraspec’s Marine Grade Wallcovering is certified as Low Flame-Propagation Surface materials (IMO Res.A. 563 (14)).

Application of Decorative Films

All Decorative Films can be applied horizontally or vertically and can be reverse hung.

Allow Muraspec’s Decorative Films to acclimatize to room temperature for 1 hour prior to application. All Decorative Films must be applied to surfaces that have been properly primed.

SURFACE PREPARATION AND PRIMING

Prepare surfaces according to the instructions of the manufacturer, in a uniform and professional manner. Cost effective results can only be achieved when the wallcovering is hung on properly prepared walls.

PSteel, Non-Sanded Filler: This is an economical option that can be rolled, brushed, or sprayed on (ie B-I-N @ 5:1 with water) as per manufacturer’s instructions.

“Ripped” walls: seal with a good oil based R.I.M. based sealer/undercoat (ie Crommelin DIRECTIONAL-PRIMING New walls should be allowed to dry for at least two weeks before priming.

Solvent-Based Primers: On smooth walls and ceilings, use a primer, specifically formulated for non-absorptive surfaces, that is compatible with Muraspec’s fabric backed or paper backed decorative film.
