Surface Preparation

All walls should be dry and free from contamination. Glossy surfaces and substrates painted with alkyd (solvent-based) paints or oil-based Caulk are not suitable for bonding.

–The use of Murabond (Poly-Vinyl acrylic copolymer) has proven to be successful. Except for applications, involving high humidity or wet areas. Use of Strataflex wipes can also resolve issues with shiny surfaces.

To fix Strataflex wipe use the free solvent based adhesive recommended. For more information about the adhesive, please contact marine@muraspec.com
When installing the film please insure,  relevant Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) are worn. Strataflex Wipe can be easily cut to size using either scissors or a craft knife.

Place the sheet printed side down. Apply enough adhesive to cover any high points or indentations apply enough Firm pressure to form permanent bond. Light streaks may occur with incorrect adhesive application.

Remove top protective film when Dry, starting from the edge. When the film is draped from the test to a vertical surface It is recommended to trim the web site to absolutely minimise.

Dry wipe only with a clean white cloth, free from common or industrial solvent. Do not scrub the applied Strataflex Wipe surface. Never use silicone cleaner or oil solvent cleaner on this surface as it will attack the antimicrobial finish on the surface.

Thinners or mineral turpentine are also not recommended for use with Strataflex wipes.

Environment humidity must not exceed 70%

FIRE TESTING

Bureau Veritas Certification – IMO (International Maritime Organisation) have approved Strataflex Wipeboard Film TW-2000 in accordance with the requirements of the EU Marine Equipment Directive (MED) 2014/90/EU, as amended.
– Also tested and approved to B.S. 476/7, Class 1.

– ASTM -E84.

– Group 1.

– AS/1530.3-1999.

– Group rating 3 in the NZBC.

– Fire testing is only fire rated – fire ratings are NOT indicative of hygiene, washability, chemical resistance, stair rating or suitability for any purpose or use other than those specifically stated.
